Each year we typically hire two summer associates. With such a small “class” and a friendly, open-door environment, our summer associates have a number of opportunities which are unique to Miller Morton Caillat & Nevis. The goal of our summer program is to provide a well rounded experience and an accurate view of life as an associate in our firm.

Summer associates attend hearings on motions, depositions, mediations, and, if possible, an arbitration or trial. To learn the preparation that precedes these events, they participate in client and expert meetings. When we ask a summer associate to perform work on issues in pending lawsuits or transactions, we allow them to continue their involvement in the matters, following the issues as they develop.

Each summer associate is assigned one senior associate as a mentor. The mentor monitors the summer associate’s work and ensures that they work in each practice area and with each attorney in the firm. This creates a unique summer program that provides a valuable learning experience for future attorneys.
