OVERVIEW
Steve Adelman has been practicing law in San Jose since 1973, with
an emphasis on real estate and construction litigation. He
has been a partner with MMCN since 1986, and, in addition to
his litigation practice, has served as a mediator, contract
arbitrator, special master, and court-appointed referee in
a number of cases. He was lead appellate counsel in Liton
General Engineering Contractor v. United Pacific Insurance,
which dealt with the rights of public works claimants to attorney's
fees from the surety on a payment bond in the absence of a
contractual right to such fees. He has lectured on various
issues, including foreclosure rights of secured lenders, legal
malpractice in the area of mechanic's lien, stop notice and
bond law, and the obligations of real estate agents and brokers
